NYACP Reoccurring "ZOOM" Meetings

What:     Issues at the Intersection between Immigration and Divorce presented by Anne Zeitoun-Sedki Esq. & Sylvia Livits-Ayass  Esq.

When:     Tuesday June 10th from 8:30-9:30

This program will help collaborative professionals spot various immigration issues during the lifespan of a legal or physical separation. Immigration status can often have serious consequences for both the US National and Foreign National.  Having a basic understanding of when and how immigration and divorce law intersect will protect clients and inform decision making process.  Specifically, this program will educate collaborative professionals on the implications of separation and divorce proceedings during the green card, removal of conditions, citizenship, domestic violence, humanitarian and I-864 affidavit of support processes.

Attorney Anne Zeitoun-Sedki is the managing attorney of The Law Offices of Anne Z. Sedki, a full-service immigration practice, with offices in Garden City, NY and Jersey City, NJ.

Attorney Sedki completed her Juris Doctor at Western Michigan University – Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Fordham University in New York, New York, in 2003. Ms. Sedki holds bar memberships in the states of New York, New Jersey and Ohio.

Attorney Sedki is a dedicated and compassionate immigration attorney with 15 years of experience, helping individuals, families and businesses navigate the complexities of U.S. immigration law. She has successfully represented clients in a wide range of immigration matters, including family-based immigration, employment-based visas, asylum, deportation defense, and naturalization. She regularly hosts workshops and webinars to educate the public about their rights and options under immigration law.

In addition to her legal practice, Attorney Sedki is an active member of The  American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), and serves on AILA’s Family Law committee. She is also a member of the Nassau County Bar Association and serves on the Immigration Law committee. She has been recognized in The Marquis Who’s Who for 2024-2025 for her exceptional legal work in immigration.

 

Sylvia Livits-Ayass is a founding member of Livits Ayass Baskin PLLC based in New York. She represents fashion houses featured at NYFW, as well as commercial and interior designers, design directors and other artists in their individual capacities. Her niche practice has also provided the opportunity to represent Michelin rated restaurants, buzz worthy eateries, hospitality companies, hotels and bars as their exclusive counsel in immigration matters. In addition to the arts, Sylvia has turned her attention to the technology sector, providing creative visa and green card solutions for tech and start-up entrepreneurs and their staff. Sylvia is the former Chapter Chair of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), New York Chapter, member of the Diversity, USCIS Case Assistance and New York USCIS Field Office Committees. Sylvia has been featured and interviewed on MTV, ABC7 and Thomson Reuters. Sylvia is Licensed by the California and New York State Bar and attended Loyola Law School in Los Angeles

The NYACP began presenting webinars in March of 2020 and will continue to meet virtually hosted by our local Pods.  The NYC Pod is now hosting a meeting the second Tuesday of every month, from 8:30-9:30am, to provide a gathering place to share information, ask questions, and offer support for our community of friends and colleagues.  

Once you complete your registration, you will recieve the log-in information, link and phone numbers in your confirmation email. Just click on the link or dial in at the time of the meetings.  There's no password.  This is a recurring meeting, so the same link should work for subsequent webinars.
