Elana Katz is a practicing family therapist, mediator and family specialist, and one of the first therapists in New York to join NYACP. She was also one of the first therapists in New York to become certified in Emotionally Focused Therapy, an approach that helps clients understand and change their patterns in key relationships. Now a certified EFT Trainer, Elana also applies her knowledge of relationships to help clients intercept difficult patterns in the divorce process. She presents nationally and internationally, and her private practice is in Manhattan.

Ken Novenstern, a partner at Fredman Baken & Novenstern, LLP in Westchester County, NY, has been practicing matrimonial law for over 37 years. The firm’s philosophy is that effective representation must reflect the unique nature of each client’s circumstances. To that end Ken Novenstern has expanded his areas of expertise beyond litigation, to mediation and collaborative law since 2004. Having seen the impact of actively litigated matters on people’s lives and finances, he has gained a greater appreciation for the importance of alternative dispute resolution methods in the matrimonial field.
