Setting Intentions:  Process Goals for Encouraging Calm, Effectiveness, and Sanity in the Room
Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at 8:30am - 9:30am

Presenter:  Judie Stein, Ph.D., LCSW

This is challenging, high-stakes work for many clients. Moreover, many clients bring into the room their own personal challenges or long-standing interpersonal dynamics that translate into complex, incendiary or unpredictable communication patterns.  Not only can these patterns derail or halt the collaborative process, they can also overwhelm and dishearten us.

This presentation shares a simple technique that puts clients in charge of defining what they need to feel respected and be effective in the room before they need it, while also gently opening the door for professionals to "add a few ideas they've found helpful over the years."  I always joke that had they honored these process goals from the beginning, they wouldn't be here.  They laugh, but we all know it's true.

Please join us, share your own ideas, and see how it's done.
