In whate ver stage of divorce, it’s both a tumultuous time and also a time for refle ction. Covid has provided an even greater opportunity to ask - what are my values, what do I really care about (and willing to fight for) and why.
These questions are also at the core of a career reinvention. Whether la id off, physically displaced by Covid or re-entering the work world for the first time, women who are struggling to see what direction to take or what their value proposition might be, will find career reinvention invaluable when planning a divorce settlement. The first step is finding her narrative - how does she talk about her values, natural strengths, skills, interests , work and lifestyle in a cohesive way to share with a new contact or prosp ective employer? Those few sentences make the difference between a door ope ning or not. Simple conversations can get her started to move from a quagmi re of divorce and onto feeling agency over a future career that suits who s he is now.
Globally speaking, this could result in less burden on ali mony payments and a more positive disposition to the couple's respective ho me lives.
Sheilah Crowley, NYU trained and ICF certified coach will w alk through ways to help your clients reframe their self image as it relate s to work, ask some guiding questions to remind clients of their assets.
