Denisa presented a very informative p rogram on April 23rd, so by popular demand, she will be continuing the pres entation in a PART TWO on May 15th.
One of the most commonly misunderstood and underestimated aspects of divorce proc eedings is language as it pertains to QDROs (Qualified Domestic Relat ions Order) and the parties’ retirement assets. Denisa will discuss the pitfalls of certain QDRO language contained within Stipulations of Sett lement as well as the areas where practitioners are most vulnerable to malp ractice lawsuits. Further, she will discuss the most common ambiguous or in correct language that attorneys mistakenly place within their agreements as it pertains to QDROs which can expose their clients to further litigation post-judgment. Denisa will also cover how to use QDRO to collect past-due c hild support and will offer practice management tips to speed up what’s kno wn to be a tedious and dragged out QDRO process.
