    About my Practice

With a focus on helping families settle their financial and custody cases out of Court, Andrea utilizes a variety of alternate dispute resolution mechanisms, working closely and collaboratively with other attorneys, parent coordinators, therapists, forensic accountants, and other professionals.  Andrea also mediates and provides neutral evaluation of family law cases as part of her matrimonial practice.  Knowledgeable and sensitive to how divorce affects children, Andrea frequently is appointed by judges to represent children as the attorney for the child or as guardian ad litem, and has assisted countless parents in resolving their disputes.   She also serves on a panel of attorneys who represent lower-income parents and children in custody and related divorce matters.
Andrea is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, has been selected by her peers to be included in The Best Lawyers in America, named a New York Super Lawyer for many years, and received the highest possible rating from Martindale-Hubbell (AV Peer Review).
Andrea is a former partner of Flemming, Zulack, Williamson & Zauderer, LLP, where she maintained both a matrimonial and commercial practice. She has served several terms on the Matrimonial Committee of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York.  In her capacity working for various bar associations, Andrea was the primary draftsperson of the New York “no fault” statute.  Andrea is also a member of the New York State Bar Association and the New York Women’s Bar Association’s Matrimonial section, and has served on the faculty of the New York College of Matrimonial Trial Attorneys, where she has lectured on forensic custody evaluations. She also has organized and lectured in connection with programs sponsored by the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts and the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers.
Andrea graduated from University of Michigan, summa cum laude, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in French literature. Thereafter, she worked as a congressional aide to a U.S. congressman. Andrea attended Georgetown University School of Law and Columbia Law School.
Andrea lives in Westchester with her husband, Dave, and has a son studying at Amherst College, a step-daughter studying at Boston University, and a son who is a high school senior.
