About my Practice
As a collaborative professional, my goal is to assist couples separate with dignity and respect and formulate agreements that are fair and mutually beneficial for both parties. In couples with children, the goal is to establish a new co-parenting arrangement with the best interests of the children as the priority, and good communication between the parents.
I have been a couples and family therapist for more than thirty five years, which informs my work as a collaborative professional. Throughout the years in private practice, I have specialized in working with divorcing couples. My dissertation on custody mediation was completed in 1984, and I wrote one of the first articles researching joint custody to be published in a major journal prior to that. I have published several other articles and papers, led seminars and presented at conferences on various issues of family therapy and co-parenting. I taught Couples Therapy to graduate students at NYU and Hunter Schools of Social Work for more than twenty years. And I joined NYACP after taking mediation training several years ago, which has been a most satisfying addition to my work.
