About my Practice
I love working with families and find people endlessly interesting. I am in a small law firm which concentrates in family and matrimonial law, wills, trusts and estates including working with same sex couples. I believe that Collaborative Law embodies a combination of the litigation skills I have learned over the last twenty five (plus) years and my philosophy of matrimonial law, to resolve disputes respectfully.
Ideal Client: One who is ready to get divorced and move on with his or her life in a way that is respectful of the other parties and particularly the children, who understands that there is a price to freedom, but it need not be the mental health of either party or their children.
I served as President of the Surprise Lake Camp board from 2014 to 2017, which I hoped assisted the camp in its mission of providing happy and healthy summer experiences for children at an affordable cost. I am a also a past President of the Westchester Women's Bar Association, a position I held from June, 1999 to June, 2001. I served the Westchester Women's Bar Association and the Women's Bar Association of the State of New York (€œWBASNY€) in many capacities, and am still active in the WWBA as a co-chair of the past president's committee, and as a past president of the Westchester Women's Bar Association Foundation , I still serve on that board. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Pace University School of Law in 1989. In the year 2000 I became a founding partner of Rosenthal & Markowitz, LLP along with my good friend from the WWBA, Kathy Rosenthal, another WWBA past president. I am admitted to practice in all courts of the State of New York, Florida, and Connecticut. I have served as a member of the board of the Westchester County Bar Association, and have served as a director and executive committee member on the boards of the Justice Brandeis Westchester Law Society, and the Non Resident Sub-Committee of the Membership Committee of the New York State Bar Association. I am very busy from these activities but still find time for the loves of my life, my children and their spouses and the four grandchildren and two step-grandsons.
