About my Practice
Lili is recognized nationally as a highly qualified financial expert in divorce, particularly in cases with complex compensation and complicated marital estates. She received the national 2013 Pioneering Award from the national Association of Divorce Financial Planners (ADFP) for her public advocacy and outstanding leadership in the field of divorce financial planning. Lili serves President Emeritus of Board of Directors of the ADFP. Lili has presented national webinars for the ABA as well as for the national Financial Planners Association on financial topics of divorce.
After her own divorce 27 years ago, and being a single parent of two young children, one of whom has special needs, Lili Vasileff, CFP®, MAFF, CDFA™ was determined to make a difference in how couples and families experienced divorce. Lili set out to educate, empower, and enable individuals to make informed financial decisions to achieve financial security and is the founder of Divorce and Money Matters LLC.
Lili supports clients and professionals with financial discovery, analysis, strategy, and forensic accounting in litigation, mediation and collaborative divorce. She provides financial consulting, expert testimony, and neutral expert opinion for attorneys and courts. After divorce, she provides clients with carryover assistance to implement terms of dissolution agreement and wealth management. She also assists clients with post divorce financial disputes. She serves also as President and Founder of Allie’s Dream, Inc., (www.alliesdream.org) a 501 ( c) (3) nonprofit organization serving young adults with physical and cognitive disabilities (www.allliesdream.org).
She is the author of "Money and Divorce: The Essential Roadmap to Mastering Financial Decisions" published by the American Bar Association in 2017, co-author of “The Ultimate Divorce Organizer: The Complete Guide to Achieving the Best Legal, Financial and Personal Outcome to Divorce” in 2011 , as well as co-authored a chapter “Complex Compensation Issues In Divorce” in the book “Forensic Accounting in Matrimonial Divorce”, published by Wiley & Sons in 2006. She has been quoted or interviewed in many publications, radio, and TV, including CNN Money, CNBC, Channel 12, Journal of Financial Planning, Bloomberg News, Reuters, SmartMoney Magazine, Kiplingers Personal Finance, AARP Magazine, Working Mother Magazine, MORE, the Wall Street Journal, New York Times Sunday Business Section, Morningstar’s article series on “How to be an Expert Witness”, the Financial Times, Investment News, Elle Magazine and many more. Lili is the President Emeritus of Board of Directors of the Association of Divorce Financial Planners. Lili is an active member of National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA), Financial Planning Association (FPA), National Association of Business Valuators and Analysts (NACVA), Institute of Divorce Financial Analysts (IDFA), International Association of Collaborative Professionals (IACP), CT Collaborative Divorce Group, and Connecticut Council for NonAdversarial Divorce (CCND) Lili serves as the only divorce financial expert for TASA Advisory Services for Attorneys, as their independent expert witness and consulting authority in divorce litigation worldwide.
