Streamlined Collaborative Process – the First Case is Wrapping Up!

Join the NYC Pod meeting on March 8, 2022 to hear from the professional team wrapping up the first Streamlined Collaborative Process case. After lots of hard work by the entire Streamlined Collaborative Committee and subcommittees laying the groundwork, professional team members Catherine Canade, Nancy Kaye, Jeff Steiger and Shari Bornstein will share their experiences with the Pod.

Shari Bornstein, Esq.
Shari practiced in her own matrimonial and family law firm in Connecticut prior to relocating to New York City. Shari used her skills as a litigator, mediator, and collaboratively trained attorney to resolve divorce cases, custody actions and post-judgment matters. Shari joined The Law Firm of John Yacos, P.C. to continue offering those same legal services to matrimonial and family clients in the process that best empowers clients to make solid decisions, while facing the emotional challenges of stress, conflict and the unpredictability of their future. Shari is a mediator on the Supreme Court Roster of Matrimonial Mediators. Shari is passionate about using positive communication to solve problems and reduce conflict and created the co-parenting communication program, GOODTALK4PARENTS, offered by FamilyKind as a resource for parents to improve their communication skills. Shari sits on the FamilyKind Advisory Council. Shari presents at Park Slope Parents educational programs, participated as guest speaker at UnTied and was interviewed on the podcast, Financially Ever After offering guidance to parents to avoid Santa’s naughty list.

Catherine Canadé, Esq.
Catherine is a collaborative attorney and family and divorce mediator in private practice in Brooklyn, Manhattan and on the North Fork of Long Island and also serves as a consulting and review attorney for clients currently in the mediation process. Catherine is a prior president of the Family and Divorce Mediation Council of Greater New York and is on the Board of Directors of the New York Association of Collaborative Professionals, where she is a founder and co-chair of their Mentorship program. Catherine is the co-founder and former Assistant Director of the National Association Of Divorce Professionals, Brooklyn Chapter as well as a founding member of the Long Island Collaborative Divorce Professionals

Nancy Kaye, CFP, CDFA
Nancy Kaye (Kirsch) is a Certified Financial Planner and Certified Divorce Financial Analyst.  Nancy has her MBA from NYU Stern School of Business and is a Registered Investment Advisor. She is a board member of NYACP and their treasurer since 2019.  Nancy was trained in the Interdisciplinary Collaborative Divorce in September 2005. Nancy provides fair, objective and neutral solutions, and helps clients incorporate their specific needs, desires and goals into a personally tailored financial settlement, and show how that settlement will affect their future financial outcome. Nancy gets enormous personal and professional satisfaction when the couples that she helps thank her for her objectivity, sensitivity and balance. Ultimately the value she delivers to clients combines trust, expertise, and understanding of specific needs. Nancy’s goal is to help clients achieve their goals. 

Jeffrey Steiger, LCSW
Jeffrey Allan Steiger, LCSW, is a psychotherapist and Family Specialist. He has been in private practice for over 30 years with offices in New York City and Westchester. He is a graduate of New York University (both undergraduate and graduate). His clinical background includes psycho- analytic studies at the Post Graduate Institute in New York City, with special training in marriage and family therapy. In his role as psychotherapist, he works with individuals, couples and families.

Jeffrey has also been trained in the interdisciplinary model of Collaborative Divorce by the New York Association of Collaborative Professionals and he currently serves on their Board of Directors. He is a trained mediator and also works with high conflict couples as a Parent Coordinator.  He is an advocate for children and families of divorce and has contributed to a new understanding of how divorce can be resolved in a respectful and non-adversarial way. He has a desire to connect deeply to people and share his strong empathic spirit.

The NYACP began presenting webinars in March and will continue to meet virtually hosted by our local Pods.  The NYC Pod is now hosting a meeting the second Tuesday of every month, from 8:30-9:30am, to provide a gathering place to share information, ask questions, and offer support for our community of friends and colleagues.  

Once you complete your registration, you will recieve the log-in information, link and phone numbers in your confirmation email. Just click on the link or dial in at the time of the meetings.  There's no password.  This is a recurring meeting, so the same link should work for subsequent webinars.
